Coronavirus Relief and Recovery

In the North Carolina House, I worked to pass a bipartisan Coronavirus relief package that included $50 million to provide protective faces masks, gloves and other personal protective (PPE) equipment to frontline healthcare workers, $109 million to make Coronavirus testing available to more North Carolinians, and $49 million to fund vaccine research.

As someone who lives in rural North Carolina, I know how Coronavirus highlighted the need for internet accessibility. I pushed for and helped deliver $9 million to help rural North Carolinians whose homes transformed into offices, schools and much more during the pandemic.

Our homes were transformed into classrooms, and our public educators were faced with a truly unprecedented challenge this year. I worked diligently to deliver over $300 Million for education, school nutrition, and child care.

For most of my life, my family and I have been business owners. I know small businesses are the backbone of the North Carolina economy and they continue to feel the economic impacts of COVID-19. That is why I am proud to be a part of the legislative efforts to provide over $125 million in Small Business Assistance Loans.
